Breaking Down Barriers to Care:

Treating Patients with Disabilities

Each webinar offers 1 Continuing Education (CE) credit:

- $20 per Webinar (if you wish to receive CE credit)

- No cost to attend (if you do not wish to receive CE credit)

Join Dr. Maureen Munnelly Perry, Professor of Special Care Dentistry and the Director of the Center for Advanced Oral Health at ATSU-ASDOH, Mesa, Arizona, for this informative 6-part webinar series to learn about some of the more common disabilities, effective adaptations for treating these patients, behavior management techniques, and more.

Attendees will gain critical knowledge and tools that will equip them to confidently accept and effectively treat patients with disabilities.

Nearly one in five people has a disability in the US, representing a significant number who may struggle with physical, intellectual, psychiatric, visual, hearing, or neurological challenges. Providing care to these patients is critical, however many dental practitioners may not feel comfortable treating this population, as special care dentistry was only added to the dental school curriculum standards in 2006.

Expanding access to care for vulnerable populations is one of the pillars of Henry Schein Cares and aligns with the Company’s efforts to advocate for increased oral health care for people with physical, intellectual, and developmental disabilities. We hope this webinar series will be a powerful catalyst towards helping to create a more inclusive health care ecosystem.
