Nearly one in five people has a disability in the US, representing a significant number who may struggle with physical, intellectual, psychiatric, visual, hearing, or neurological challenges. Providing care to these patients is critical, however many dental practitioners may not feel comfortable treating this population, as special care dentistry was only added to the dental school curriculum standards in 2006.

Expanding access to care for vulnerable populations is one of the pillars of Henry Schein Cares and aligns with the Company’s efforts to advocate for increased oral health care for people with physical, intellectual, and developmental disabilities. We hope this webinar series will be a powerful catalyst towards helping to create a more inclusive health care ecosystem.
